The Kano State Police Command has stated that it arrested 24 suspects for offences such as drug abuse and other social vices.
The Kano Command, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, noting that the arrests were in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, regarding the promotion of community-based policing and increased round-the-clock visibility patrols.
It further said that its officers made the arrests as a part of the Command’s commitment to reducing crimes and criminality, especially the menace of drug abuse and other social vices in all parts of the state.
The Kano Police disclosed that the operatives of the command arrested the 24 suspects while carrying out several clearance operations between October 26, 2023 and November 2, 2023.
“During this period, a total of twenty-four (24) suspects were arrested for offenses such as drug dealing and other social vices, with the recovery of a quantity of illicit drugs and stolen properties,” it stated.
The statement noted that the drug dealers will be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Kano Command for further action.
The Command equally revealed that the remaining suspects will be charged to court upon the completion of their investigation.
