Nigerian youths have taken to the streets to protest the death of Nigerian artist and singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, popularly known as Mohbad.
Punch Metro reported that Mohbad died on Tuesday at the age of 27. The cause of his death has continued to fuel various speculations on social media, especially in light of various viral videos showing the late singer being molested.
The late Mohbad was formerly signed to Marlian Records, which is headed by Naira Marley. In 2022, the late singer was reported to have left the record label.
While not much was known about Mohbad apart from his split from his former record label, Marlian Record, following his death, colleagues and fans have revealed a lot about the artist.
Uncomfirmed discoveries by colleagues, fans, and friends emerge daily, allegedly suggesting that the late singer was allegedly harassed and bullied to death.
While the Lagos State Police has formally launched an investigation into his death, youths and other music lovers have taken to the streets to protest his death.
Videos and images obtained across social media platforms have shown peaceful protests in Lagos, Ogun State, and Delta.
The protesters who wore black attire gathered in their numbers at the skating ground arena in Abeokuta, carrying placards with inscriptions like #JusticeForMohbad and #Who Off Light, among others.
Also, some youths are still protesting in Lagos around the Lagos State Polytechnic area, sources said.
In the same vein, youths gathered at Effurun Road in Warri Delta State on Tuesday to demand justice for Mohbad.
Punch Metro reported that the Lagos State Police Command inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team on Monday to probe the mysterious death of Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Also, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, invited the DSS on Tuesday morning to join the Lagos State Police to investigate the killing of the Nigerian singer.
