The Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi has given directive on the immediate verification of civil servants in the state.
Governor Namadi gave this order on Wednesday while citing some of his achievements after 100 days in office at the Government House, Dutse.
He explained that the introduction of a personnel payroll verification exercise is part of the present administration’s efforts to improve service delivery.
He pointed out that the idea behind the IPPIMS in the state is to get value for the state’s money and is also part of Phase One of the IPPIMS implementation by the state government.
Namadi noted that the exercise is introduced for retrenchment or witch-hunting anyone but is rather meant to enhance the efficiency of the state’s civil service.
He further said that the exercise will allow the state government to know the exact workforce and its gap.
“Without accurate data, the government will not be able to plan well on how to implement the agenda blueprint and recruit more civil servants to fill the available gaps.
“The benefits of the IPPIMS to the state include efficiency, data accuracy, timely disbursement of salaries, transparency, cost savings, and data security,” he said.
He sought the state’s workers cooperation for the success of the exercise.
It was earlier gathered that the massive retirement and employment embargo put in place by the previous administration has destroyed civil service in the state.
