Minister of Interior, Hon Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has assured Nigerians that passports issuance process will be reduced to two-weeks.
He stated this while speaking on Journalist Hangouts, TVC on Tuesday.
According to him, there is no reason why Nigerians must have to wait for months after passport application to receive it.
He explained that President Bola Tinubu has given him a marching order to ensure that all bottlenecks in the ministry are addressed to ensure improved service delivery from all agencies under the ministry.
“Nigerians should not wait for more than two weeks to get their passports, it is totally unacceptable for Nigerians to wait this far”, he said.
He also added that the ministry will ensure the creation of frontline offices for the Nigerian Immigration Services that will ensure that they have localized across the federation.
According to him, this will reduce the waiting time for Nigerians to apply and get their passports without much difficulties.
