The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has applauded security operatives for their swift response in rescuing multiple kidnap victims in separate incidents in Anambra State and the Federal Capital Territory.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Force spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
According to the statement, in Anambra, a joint security team comprising police officers and other agencies successfully rescued three victims abducted in Nkwelle-Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area, on March 22, 2025. According to authorities, the victims sustained injuries during their ordeal but are currently receiving medical care.
Similarly, in the FCT, a coordinated effort involving the Police Command, the Nigerian Military, the Department of State Services local vigilantes, and hunters led to the rescue of a Naval officer and two others who were kidnapped in Mpape on March 21.
The victims were found unharmed in Anguwan Mu’azu, Nasarawa State, on March 23, while four suspects linked to the abduction were arrested.
Commending the security personnel for their bravery and collaboration, IGP Egbetokun reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to combating violent crimes and ensuring the safety of citizens.
“The dedication and strategic coordination displayed by our officers in these operations reflect our unwavering resolve to rid the country of criminal elements,” he stated.
He further assured Nigerians that law enforcement agencies would continue to implement proactive measures to enhance security and protect lives and property across the country.
