Nigerian media personality and actor, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu, has addressed speculations surrounding his departure from The Honest Bunch podcast, emphasizing that he was not fired.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, Nedu explained that his decision to step away was due to personal attacks following a controversial episode featuring reality TV star Deeone.
In the episode, Deeone alleged that social media critic, VeryDarkMan, was attracted to men.
VDM, in response, accused Nedu of orchestrating the allegations and claimed the media personality had persistently invited him to the podcast since 2024, allegedly offering to buy him a car as an incentive. Amid the backlash and counter-accusations, Nedu announced his exit from the show.
On that matter, Nedu said, “A lot of things have been going on left right and center but I am going to say this: I am not one to indulge in petty exchanges of words, that’s not who I am. It has never been my style and it would never be my style to jab words with people on social media.”
Addressing the rumors that he was fired, Nedu stated, “Let me clarify that I wasn’t fired from The Honest Bunch Podcast. I decided to step away when the attacks became personal, so that the show can go on.”
