The Katsina State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Mallam Nasiru Fullo, has revealed how the national Vice-President of MACBAN, Mannir Lamido was kidnapped.
PUNCH METRO reported that the association on Friday declared that Lamido was missing.
According to The Punch, Mallam Fullo in an interview with journalists disclosed that Lamido was kidnapped after a conversation with an unidentified caller.
Fullo further revealed that the MACBAN leader was on his way to Kaduna via Zaria in Kaduna State with his sister-in-law, who was scheduled to land in Zaria, and that he (Lamido) has not been found since.
“Last Friday, he said he was travelling to Kaduna State along with his sister-in-law, who was to stop in Zaria. Since he dropped her in Zaria and proceeded to Kaduna, his phone numbers were switched off.
“Efforts to get across to him were unsuccessful. When we alerted the police to track his phone, they said that his phone was switched off in Jaji, a suburb of Kaduna.”
He further added, “His sister-in-law said she overheard his conversation with someone over the phone. The other party was describing his car as a purple Peugeot 406 and the vice chairman was describing his as a Toyota Corolla gold colour.”
“From my knowledge of him, in the whole of Katsina State, he is having no issues with anyone, he has never told me even if there is any issue. I do not know of anyone that has issues with him. He is a gentleman; he knows how to live with people.”
He also stated that they have written to the Abuja police command who are yet to get back to them. “We wrote to our national office and they wrote to the Abuja office of the Nigeria Police, but till now, I have not heard from them on the outcome of their investigation and I have not contacted them, except I will contact them later.”
