Victor Osimhen’s transfer to Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig was facilitated by George Gardi, a FIFA-accredited agent with strong connections to the Turkish club.
This development occurred after Osimhen’s initial plans to secure a move within the general European transfer window fell through, despite efforts by his primary agent, Roberto Calenda.
When the European window closed, Osimhen’s options seemed limited, but Galatasaray acted swiftly to bring the Nigerian striker on board.
Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Gardi played a key role in making the deal happen, stepping in to guide the process after the European market shut its doors.
In a recent interview with tuttoMercatoWeb, Gardi revealed the behind-the-scenes actions that led to Osimhen’s swift transfer to the Turkish champions.
He explained that Galatasaray had been closely monitoring the situation and, as soon as the transfer window closed across Europe, they made their move.
“Osimhen’s deal had started on Friday, 00.01, right after the European market closed,” Gardi shared in the interview, as reported by Romano. “Napoli immediately opened the doors to Gala loan move, and the player also did the same. We had to be fast, and Victor Osimhen immediately said yes.”
Thanks to Galatasaray’s speed and decisiveness, they secured the services of Osimhen before other clubs could react.
Both Napoli and the player were open to the move, allowing for the transfer to be completed without delays.
Osimhen, who is now set to continue his career in Turkey, has already linked up with his Super Eagles teammates as they prepare for crucial Africa Cup of Nations l qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
His presence will be vital to Nigeria’s campaign as they seek to qualify for the prestigious tournament.
