The plenary session of the House of Representatives has been postponed from May 15 to May 13, 2023.
This was disclosed by the Clerk of the House, Yahaya Danzaria, in a statement made on the official Twitter handle of the lower house on Monday.
He stated that the shift will allow returning members-elect to take part in the second batch of the ongoing induction programme.
The statement read; “This is to inform all Hon Members and the general public that the House of Representatives will not resume plenary on Tuesday 9th May 2023 as earlier adjourned. The next adjourned date will be Tuesday 16th May 2023.
“This change is intended to allow Members to partake actively in the ongoing induction program of the 10th National Assembly. All inconveniences are highly regretted.”
This would be the second time the House leadership has delayed the start of plenary.
Recall that the plenary was originally scheduled to resume on March 14, 2023, but was moved to March 21, 2023. Despite the fact that the plenary was convened on March 21, it was postponed until Tuesday, May 15, 2023.
