Fire has reportedly gutted eight vehicles and eight sheds at Lawan Dambazau Road by rail line in Kano State.
The State Fire Service Spokesperson, Saminu Yusif, who confirmed the incident, noted that the inferno occurred on Tuesday at an uncompleted building used for carpentry work and car repair garage.
Yusif pointed out that the fire incident was caused by an electrical spark from the carpenter’s place.
“We received a distress call at about 02:15 hrs by police officer P & G Kwalli police division, who informed us of a fire outbreak at Lawan Dambazau road by rail line.
“We deployed firemen who arrived scene of incident and found out it was an uncompleted building where the work of carpenters and car repairers is carried out that was gutted by fire.
“The incident was caused by an electrical spark from the carpenter’s place.
“With the help of Allah and effort of our men, we managed to save about 10 sheds with one temporary Mosque and 37 cars were parked at the garage.
“The fire affected eight sheds with carpentry equipment and eight cars were burnt.,” Yusif stated.
