Fulham staged a dramatic comeback to secure a 2-1 victory over local rivals Chelsea, with substitute Rodrigo Muniz netting a decisive 95th-minute goal to earn the visitors all three points in Thursday’s Premier League clash.
The result marked Fulham’s first triumph at Stamford Bridge in 45 years, while also dealing a significant blow to Chelsea’s title aspirations.
The hosts remain in second place on 35 points, trailing leaders Liverpool by four points, despite having played two more matches. Liverpool will face Leicester City later in the day.
Rodrigo Muniz’s late strike ignited jubilant celebrations as Fulham ended their decades-long wait for an away win at Chelsea.
Chelsea had taken the lead in the 16th minute through a moment of brilliance from Cole Palmer, who weaved past two defenders and slipped the ball through Issa Diop’s legs to find the bottom corner.
Fulham, however, showed relentless determination in the second half. Their efforts were rewarded in the 82nd minute when Harry Wilson headed in from close range, delivering the club’s first goal at Stamford Bridge since 2011.
Muniz sealed the victory in stoppage time, sweeping home Sasa Lukic’s precise pass to elevate Fulham to eighth in the table with 28 points from 18 matches.
The loss snapped Chelsea’s unbeaten league run since their 2-1 defeat at Liverpool on October 20.
