The Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Enyimba Football Club, have announced Olorunleke Ojo as the new club head in preparation for the 2023–24 season.
This came on the premise of the departure of former captain John Noble, who left the club following the expiration of his contract.
The club made the release on its official website on Wednesday.
It explained that the new captain, Ojo, joined the People’s in September 2021 and has established himself despite stiff competition.
“Ojo joined the People’s in September 2021 and, in his two seasons at the club, has established himself as a mainstay in Finidi George’s squad despite stiff competition from John Noble and Djeri Bassa,” the club noted.
Centerback Somiari Alalibo will serve as the team’s second captain.
“Enyimba will get the 2023–24 season underway with a Champions League preliminary round fixture against Al Ahli Benghazi in Libya on August 18,” the club added.
