Many Lagos residents are grappling with persistent power outages due to ongoing issues affecting the 330kV transmission lines.
The Eko Electricity Distribution Company confirmed this development in a statement shared on its X handle on Monday.
According to the company, the prolonged load-shedding is directly linked to a reduced electricity supply from the Transmission Company of Nigeria, its primary power transmission partner.
“This is to kindly update you that we are still experiencing reduced power allocation from our TCN partners due to faults on the 330kV lines feeding the Lagos region.
“The situation has resulted in the continued load-shedding across our network leading to the current power situation you are experiencing,” EKEDC stated.
The ongoing disruption has sparked frustration among Lagosians, particularly businesses that depend on a steady power supply for daily operations.
While acknowledging the challenges, EKEDC reassured customers that efforts are underway to resolve the situation.
“Rest assured that we are taking all necessary steps to address the situation as we work closely with TCN and other partners to resolve the issue and ensure a more stable power supply soonest,” the company stated.
The electricity provider also expressed gratitude to its customers, appreciating their patience and cooperation during this difficult period.
EKEDC affirmed its commitment to working with TCN to restore stable power as quickly as possible.
