The 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has appealed for calm and urged residents to maintain law and order amidst the ongoing leadership tussle.
According to the Nation, the monarch emphasized the importance of justice and the rule of law.
Bayero, who was recently deposed, called on the authorities to ensure a fair and just resolution to the crisis, stressing that Kano’s stability is crucial to Nigeria’s well-being.
He said, “Kano is a vital state in Nigeria, and whatever affects Kano affects the entire country. I implore everyone to remain peaceful and law-abiding as we await the outcome of the legal process.”
The deposed Emir reiterated his commitment to accepting the legal outcome, stating, “Justice is the way forward, and nobody is above the law. We will accept whatever the law decides.”
He expressed gratitude to those who have shown concern and support, and urged continued prayers for peace in Kano State.
“May Allah protect us and bless Kano with responsible and just leaders,” he added.
