Nigerian music sensation, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj, is marking his two-decade-long career with a special ‘Thank You concert’ at the New Afrika Shrine in Ikeja, Lagos.
The event, set for Tuesday, June 11, will feature performances from leading music stars and notable figures in the industry.
D’banj, affectionately known as the ‘Koko Master’, shared the exciting news on Instagram, announcing, “All roads lead to the New Afrika Shrine on Tuesday, June 11. It’s a free concert in celebration of my 20 years on stage for all of you who have stuck with the Koko master since 2004 till date. The street is where it all started and we are back to where it all began.”
In his post, D’banj also paid tribute to his former collaborator and producer, Don Jazzy, acknowledging the significant impact he had on his career.
He reminisced about their partnership, stating, “Giving you the invite to my anniversary dinner was a moment filled with nostalgia. As we both celebrate 20 years in the industry, I’m reminded of the countless memories and milestones we’ve shared together.
” Here’s to two decades of brotherhood, entertainment, and unwavering support. Love you always, Brother!”
D’banj and Don Jazzy co-founded Mo’Hits Records in 2004, a partnership that ended in 2012 due to differing interests.
Following their split, Don Jazzy founded Mavin Records, while D’banj established DB Records.
