Grammy-nominated Afrobeats sensation Davido has officially revealed that his highly anticipated fifth studio album, 5ive, will drop on March 14, 2025.
The announcement was shared on Saturday through a pre-save link posted across his social media channels. In the post, Davido confirmed, “5ive is scheduled to be released on March 14.”
This forthcoming album marks a significant chapter in the superstar’s career, following the success of A Better Time (2020) and Timeless (2023).
Building excitement for the project, Davido released two singles in 2024—“Awuke,” featuring YG Marley, and “Funds.”
The latter pays homage to African music legend Brenda Fassie, sampling her 1997 hit “Vuli Ndlela” and blending traditional African sounds with modern Afrobeat influences.
In December, the 32-year-old artist expressed his enthusiasm for the album, describing it as a deeply personal journey. “My people, the journey continues in 2025 with my new album 5ive. This is straight from the heart — my story, my truth, and my growth,” Davido shared.
Davido, born David Adeleke, first rose to fame in 2012 with his breakout single “Dami Duro” from his debut album Omo Baba Olowo. Over the years, he has released several critically acclaimed projects, including A Good Time (2019) and A Better Time (2020).
As the founder of DMW (Davido Music Worldwide), established in 2016, he has played a pivotal role in nurturing emerging music talents.
