The Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service has apprehended and publicly displayed 30 young illegal migrants.
According to Daily Trust, the State Comptroller of NIS, Abosede Olayemisi, revealed that these illegal migrants, hailing from Benin and Congo, were not only in violation of immigration laws but also engaged in fraudulent activities targeting fellow migrants.
She stated that these individuals were apprehended in Abeokuta while they were deceiving their fellow nationals with false promises of non-existent business opportunities.
She explained that, “They are 30 in number. We apprehended them at their office where they gathered and were doing an illicit business. They are defrauding fellow foreign nationals by bringing them in and collecting money from them. They promised them employment in Nigeria.
“After taking money from them, they threw them to the streets. The next thing is to repatriate them to their home countries.”
