The Chief District Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, His Honour Emmanuel Iyanna, has issued an injunction restraining popular on-air personality, Kayode Oladotun, known as Do2dtun, from making defamatory posts against singer Oladapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj, on social media or any other platform.
According to Channels, the court action was initiated by D’banj, who sought an injunction against Do2dtun to prevent him from posting malicious and defamatory content on social media.
The application was filed by D’banj’s lawyer, Toheeb Lawal.
The court granted the injunction, restraining Do2dtun from making malicious, intimidating, or defamatory posts directed at D’banj on any social media platform or news media until the substantive case is heard and determined.
Furthermore, the court directed the Deputy Inspector of Police, Force Intelligence Bureau, to investigate a criminal complaint filed by D’banj against Do2dtun within two weeks and report back to the court.
The legal action stems from an ongoing social media feud in which Do2dtun had been posting negative content about D’banj.
Recall that Do2dtun was previously married to D’banj’s sister, Taiwo, and the union produced two children.
However, Taiwo filed for divorce in November 2021, citing allegations of emotional abuse, forced abortion, and domestic violence by Do2dtun.
The court proceedings related to their divorce are ongoing.
