The Federal High Court in Abuja has indefinitely adjourned the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, following his objection to Justice Binta Nyako presiding over the case.
According to The PUNCH, Justice Nyako made the decision on Monday after Kanu insisted that she could no longer handle his trial, citing her previous recusal from the case.
Earlier, Kanu had filed a petition against Justice Nyako with the National Judicial Council, alleging judicial misconduct in her handling of his trial.
Days later, he demanded that his case be transferred to a court in the South-East if no other judge at the Federal High Court in Abuja was willing to take it.
The court had previously scheduled Monday, February 10, 2025, for Kanu’s hearing, but with his objections remaining unresolved, the case has now been put on hold indefinitely.
