The Nigerian Army troops of 26 Task Force Brigades on patrol in Borno State intercepted Mrs Mary Ngoshe and her son who is believed to be one of the abducted Chibok girls of the Government Girls Secondary School in 2014.
This was disclosed through the Official Twitter handle of the Nigerian Army.
According to the tweets, the lady and her son were intercepted, on June 14, 2022, at about 6:12 AM local times while the troops were on patrol along Ngoshe road in Borno State.
The army revealed that it is conducting a further investigation as of press time.
According to reports, since the abduction of the girls in 2014, 164 of them have reportedly escaped, were released or were found.
However, eight years down the line, 109 of the girls are still reportedly in the custody of the Boko Haram insurgents.
Further reports revealed that no fewer than 24 parents of the abducted schoolgirls had died from high blood pressure and other heart-related ailments developed as a result of their missing daughters.
