Bayern Munich stretched their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to nine points with a 3-0 victory over Werder Bremen on Friday, thanks to two second-half penalties from Harry Kane and a close-range finish by Leroy Sané.
The hosts dominated the early stages but had to remain patient before finally opening the scoring in the 61st minute.
Kane converted from the spot after Anthony Jung was penalized for handling the ball in the box, netting his 20th league goal of the season.
Sané, who replaced Kingsley Coman in the 81st minute, doubled Bayern’s advantage almost immediately. The winger lost his marker and tucked in Konrad Laimer’s cross at the far post to make it 2-0.
In stoppage time, Kane completed his brace with another well-taken penalty in the ninth minute of added time, putting the result beyond doubt.
Werder Bremen’s goalkeeper, Michael Zetterer, produced several key saves to keep the scoreline respectable, including a superb one-handed stop to deny Dayot Upamecano’s header in the second half.
Bayern’s triumph marked their 10th home win in 11 league matches this season and their eighth victory in nine games across all competitions since the start of 2025. Meanwhile, Bremen remained in eighth place.
