Armed bandits have abducted two nurses and an unspecified number of patients from a Primary Health Care Centre in Kuyello, Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to Vanguard, a local vigilante Musa Alhassan, the attack occurred on Monday morning when the bandits initially targeted a nearby Government Day Secondary School.
“They arrived around 9:00 am, asking about the students,” Alhassan explained. “But when they discovered the school was empty, they turned their attention to the healthcare centre.”
The bandits, reportedly seeking to kidnap students, shifted their focus to the clinic and took the two nurses and several patients instead.
“They stormed the health facility with guns and machetes, forcefully dragging people out,” Alhassan said. “There was nothing we could do to stop them.”
At the time of this report, the exact number of patients kidnapped remains unclear, and the Kaduna State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
The abductions have left the Kuyello community in shock, raising concerns about the increasing insecurity in the region.
