Several Arsenal players have rejoined Mikel Arteta’s squad for their final pre-season match against Bayer Leverkusen, following their impressive performances at Euro 2024.
Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, William Saliba, and Aaron Ramsdale have resumed training after competing in Germany.
They have reconnected with their teammates upon returning to the UK.
The rest of the Arsenal squad spent their summer on a pre-season tour in the United States, where they faced Bournemouth, Manchester United, and Liverpool.
The final match against Liverpool ended in a 2-1 defeat, with goals from Mohamed Salah and Fabio Carvalho securing the win for Arne Slot’s side, despite Kai Havertz scoring for Arsenal.
The club has now confirmed that their European competitors have returned and joined their first training session ahead of the final pre-season fixture.
Saka, Rice, and Ramsdale, representing England, recently returned home after their second consecutive Euro final appearance, narrowly missing out on the title with a 2-1 loss to Spain.
Saliba reached the semi-finals with France, also succumbing to Spain with a 2-1 defeat.
David Raya, Spain’s goalkeeper and newly crowned European champion, has returned as well but has yet to feature for Arsenal in pre-season.
In his absence, 22-year-old Karl Hein has had the chance to play in goal, adding to his single senior appearance for the Gunners.
Arsenal will host Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday in their final pre-season friendly.
Their Premier League campaign will then commence against Wolverhampton Wanderers on August 17.
