A 65-year-old widow, Madam Koteibofori Harry, has disclosed how officials of the Nigerian Army paid her the sum of N150,000 for killing her 24-year-old daughter, Damiete Green.
According to The Nation, the widow said, her daughter was gruesomely gunned by a trigger-happy soldier in Port Harcourt just weeks before she turned 25.
It’s reported that the deceased was shot by a trigger-happy soldier, Sgt. Yinka Ayileka, deployed to the Nigeria Correctional Centre, in broad daylight in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
According to the widow, the deceased was running errands for her when she met her untimely death that came through the soldier’s reckless bullet.
She also disclosed that the military high command at the 6th Division of the Nigerian Army, from where the killer soldier was deployed, offered the bereaved family N150,000 (One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) as compensation.
