The Joint Task Force, North West Operation Hadarin Jadi, has demolished terrorist hideouts, neutralized numerous militants, and seized weapons and ammunition in Zamfara and Sokoto states.
This information was disclosed in a press release by the troops’ spokesperson, Captain Ibrahim Yahaya, shared with the media on Thursday.
Yahaya highlighted that the troops have escalated their efforts against the terrorists to safeguard lives and property during the Yuletide season.
He said, “Today, December 14, 2023, troops of the OPHD coordinated a clearance operation within Dada, Rukudawa and Dumburum villages in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
“During the operation, an encounter ensued between the troops and the marauding terrorists which the troops’ power superiority forced the terrorists to retreat and flee with gunshot wounds while one of them was neutralised.
“Furthermore, the troops advanced aggressively and destroyed enclaves of dreaded terrorist kingpins, Gwaska Dan Karami and Dangote, who abandoned their hideouts and escaped in disarray.”
Yahaya reported that during a mop-up operation, the troops retrieved two firearms, two motorcycles, assorted pairs of military camouflage uniforms, communication devices, and ammunition.
Additionally, in a separate operation, the combined troops of OPHD in Sokoto State eliminated four terrorists in Masasa village.
He affirmed that in this encounter, multiple terrorists fled with injuries from gunshots, while the troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, two Tecno phones, and N282,050 in cash.
