Actress and social media influencer, Fancy Acholonu, has spoken for the first time since announcing her breakup from actor, Alexx Ekubo.
There were controversies surrounding her breakup with the ‘Gold Digging’ star, as speculations suggested that their relationship crashed because Acholonu discovered that Ekubo is gay.
Fans and bloggers were quick to jump on a line in her breakup post which read, “Everyone should find their happiness and live in their truth.”
However, in a fresh post on her Instagram on Friday, Acholonu said that the media misconstrued her statement.
Although she refused to divulge the details of their breakup, Acholonu noted that she was not confirming the gay rumours.
“In the five sentences I wrote, the highlighted part that was all over the media was ‘live in ‘your’ truth’. I never said Alexx should live in ‘his’ truth. The sentence I wrote in full was ‘Everyone should find their happiness and live in ‘their’ truth.
“My words were misconstrued and now understandably seemed directed at him because of the gay rumours that have followed him for years. Sadly anything I would have said or not said would have led to those assumptions.”
