Super Eagles striker, Victor Osihmen reportedly missed training on Monday in their preparation for the semi-finals clash with South Africa in the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote D’ivoire.
This was made known in a statement by the medical team on Monday night, noting that Osihmen did not make the trip due to abdominal discomfort.
The statement however expressed optimism that the Nopoli’s striker may join the rest of the squad by 5pm on Tuesday if clear by the medical team.
The statement read, “Members of the team travelled from Abidjan to Bouake via Air Cote D’ivoire flight. Osihmen did not, however make the trip as result of abdominal discomfort.
“Team medics confirmed that he has been placed under close watch with a member of the medical team staying behind in Abidjan with him.
“If clearly by tomorrow morning, he will join the rest of the squad before 5pm.”
Nigeria will be facing South Africa in semi-finals of the 34th edition of AFCON on Wednesday.
The game is scheduled for a 5pm GMT kick-off at Stade de la Paix in Bouake.
