The Confederation of African Football has appointed officials from Mozambique to oversee the upcoming match between the Supersand Eagles and their Mauritanian counterparts.
The clash is set to take place in Kaduna on Saturday, marking the return leg in the quest for a spot in 2024 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations.
The match will be officiated by referee Dique Salvador Muxanga from Mozambique, supported by his compatriots Angelo Almeida Nguenha and Jonas Chochota Chochato as Referees 1 and 2.
Eliano Domingos Tito Iacala from Angola will serve as the matchkeeper, while Adalberto Luis Fonseca Catambi from Sao Tome and Principe will act as Commissioner.
In their first leg encounter last Saturday in Nouakchott, the two-time African champions secured a narrow 5-4 victory, thanks to goals from Emeka Ogbonna, Emmanuel Ohwoferia, Taiwo Adams, and a brace from veteran Victor Tale.
The return leg will be held at the Beach Soccer Arena in Murtala Muhammed Square, Kaduna, with kickoff scheduled for 5 pm.
A draw or a win for the Nigerian team will guarantee their place in the finals in Egypt.
Egypt, Morocco, and Tanzania have already secured their spots in the 8-team finals, following the withdrawal of Angola and Uganda from the qualifiers.
Other qualifying matches this weekend include:
– Senegal vs Guinea, 9-3
– Cote d’Ivoire vs Ghana, 3-5
– Mozambique vs Seychelles, 7-3
– Malawi vs Burundi, 7-6
