One Aliyu Hammanseyo has been arraigned before a Chief Magistrate Court, Yola for stabbing his friend to death over N1,500 loan.
Hammanseyo, from Mubi North Local Government Area of Adamawa State, was also remanded after confessing to the crime.
The prosecuting police officer, ASP Francis Audu, who read the charge account before the magistrate, Muhammed Abubakar, told the court that Hammanseyo stabbed the victim, Bilham Babangida, with a knife, which resulted in the death of the latter on June 7, 2022.
Audu in the charge sheet also told the court that the accused admitted to stabbing Babangida in the chest when he was interrogated.
According to the charge sheet, the defendant owed Babangida N1,500 and the deceased was allegedly attacked when he attempted to recover the money from his friend.
The prosecutor pleaded with the court to remand Hammanseyo.
The magistrate adjourned the case till July 14, 2022, and ordered that the defendant be remanded.
