Nigerian actor Adeniyi Johnson has publicly addressed his recent suspension from the African Men Entertainment Kings, a prominent entertainment club led by fellow actor Femi Adebayo.
Johnson was suspended over the weekend due to allegations of gross misconduct and violations of the club’s constitution.
In a detailed response shared on social media, Johnson expressed his dismay at the club’s actions, stating, “It saddens my heart that my honourable club made such a derogatory post about me.”
He emphasized that his existence and career predated his membership in AFRIMEK, adding, “Please note that I’m not bigger than the club, but before the club, there has been Adeniyi Johnson.”
Johnson also voiced concerns about the potential negative impact of the suspension on his reputation and brand. He warned, “If care is not taken, that post will do more harm than good,” and appealed to his supporters for patience and understanding while he addresses the situation.
“I hereby implore my family, friends, and fans to stay calm and continue to show unwavering love and support,” he added.
The actor concluded his statement by thanking his associates for their continued trust and support, affirming, “To all associates, I remain my humble self and thank you for the continuous belief and trust. God pass us all.”
AFRIMEK is known for its membership comprising prominent figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry, including Femi Adebayo, Muyiwa Ademola, Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Chatta, and Jamiu Azeez Olamilekan. The club has not yet issued a further statement on the matter.
