Real Valladolid ended their six-game losing streak with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against 10-man Las Palmas in La Liga on Friday.
Las Palmas dominated early on and took a deserved lead in the 22nd minute when Sandro Ramírez’s strike took a deflection, wrong-footing goalkeeper Karl Hein.
However, the visitors’ momentum was halted just seven minutes later when Scotland international Scott McKenna received a straight red card for bringing down Anuar Tuhami as he raced toward goal.
Despite the numerical advantage, Valladolid—struggling with the league’s weakest attack—found it difficult to break through.
Their persistence finally paid off in the 62nd minute when substitute Juanmi Latasa capitalized on a knockdown, heading home from close range to level the score.
Owned by Brazilian legend Ronaldo, Valladolid remains at the foot of the La Liga table, six points behind Alaves.
“We’ll keep believing until it is mathematically impossible,” said Latasa, expressing hope for survival. “I wish people could see how we work.”
