The Magistrate Court in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos State, has acquitted Nigerian singer Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, of any involvement in the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, also called Mohbad.
According to Channels, delivering the ruling on Tuesday, Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje adopted the legal advice from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecution, which stated that the musician had no case to answer.
Others discharged alongside Naira Marley include music promoter Samson Balogun (Sam Larry), Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy), and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde.
However, the DPP recommended the prosecution of Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad before his death, and Ayobami Sadiq, a friend of the late singer.
They are to face trial at the magistrate court for reckless and negligent acts, contrary to Section 251 (e) of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
