Chelsea defenders, Ben Chilwell and Axel Disasi, have departed the club to join Premier League rivals on loan for the remainder of the season.
Chilwell has moved to Crystal Palace, while Disasi has secured a temporary switch to Aston Villa.
Their exits were confirmed as the 2025 winter transfer window closed on Monday night.
Chelsea acknowledged Disasi’s move in an official statement, wishing him well during his time at Villa Park. “Disasi will now spend the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign at Villa Park and we look forward to supporting him during his loan spell. Good luck, Axel,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, Chilwell expressed his excitement about joining Palace, highlighting the club’s positive trajectory. “Crystal Palace is a club that’s going in a great direction,” he said. “You look at the last few months, with the results and how the team’s playing, it was a no-brainer to make the decision to come here.”
Both players struggled for regular minutes under Chelsea’s new manager, Enzo Maresca, leading to their loan departures.
