A yet-to-be-identified man lost his life, while three others sustained injuries following the collapse of a building under construction in the Lekki area of Lagos on Tuesday evening.
Confirming the incident, Shakiru Amodu, spokesperson for the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service stated that emergency responders were quickly deployed to the scene.
“Yes, the incident happened. There was one casualty, while three others were injured,” Amodu said in an exclusive interview.
According to reports, the structure caved in unexpectedly, trapping some workers at the construction site.
The cause of the collapse remains unknown, but authorities have launched an investigation to determine what led to the tragic event.
“The building was under construction before it collapsed. We have yet to ascertain the cause. Investigation is ongoing,” Amodu added.
Rescue efforts were carried out by emergency response teams, ensuring that those injured received medical attention.
