Taylor Swift has been officially recognized by Billboard as the biggest artist of the 21st century, securing the top spot on the publication’s prestigious “Top Artists of the 21st Century” list.
The ranking reflects artists’ performances on the Billboard 200 albums chart and the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart from January 1, 2000, through December 28, 2024.
“Titles released prior to mid-1999 are excluded, although such entries that appeared on the Billboard 200 or Hot 100 in that span contribute to the calculation of the Top Artists chart,” the publication stated on Wednesday.
Swift’s dominance began with her 2006 debut single, “Tim McGraw,” which marked her first entry on the Billboard charts.
Since then, she has amassed a record-breaking 14 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, the highest ever achieved by a female artist, and 12 No. 1 singles on the Hot 100.
Additionally, she holds the distinction of the most top 10 entries on the Hot 100 among women, with an impressive 59.
Other influential artists featured in the top 10 include Drake, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Eminem, and The Weeknd, all of whom have left an indelible mark on the global music landscape over the past quarter-century.
