Super Eagles and Galatasaray forward, Victor Osimhen, is set to be sidelined due to injury.
The Nigerian international played a key role in Galatasaray’s 3-2 away victory over Sivasspor on Sunday, scoring the team’s second goal.
However, he later experienced discomfort in his upper back.
Following an MRI scan conducted on Monday afternoon, it was revealed that Osimhen has sustained a moderate strain and bleeding in the muscle group of his right upper back.
Galatasaray issued a statement confirming the severity of the injury,”Victor Osimhen, who felt pain in his upper back muscle during match week 15, was diagnosed with moderate strain and bleeding in his right upper back muscle group in the MRI examination performed at our hospital.”
The club stated that a precise recovery timeline for Osimhen has not been determined.
“Our medical team has not provided a specific return date, and decisions will be made based on his clinical progress amidst the demanding match schedule,” the club added.
The club confirmed that treatment for the injury has already commenced.
Osimhen has been an instrumental part of Galatasaray’s attack this season, contributing significantly with his goals.
