The suspects, identified as 27-year-old Okechukwu Chinwuko and 22-year-old Ezenwa Chinedu, were taken into custody by the Anti-Cultism Squad in Enugu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area.
According to a statement released on Monday by the command’s spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, the arrests were made following a raid on a notorious black spot in the area.
Ikenga detailed the operation, stating, “Police operatives attached to the Anti-Cultism Squad Enugu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State in the late hours of Saturday, December 7, 2024, acting on credible information, raided an identified black spot in Umunaga Village, Awka South LG.

In another incident on the same day, officers from the Igbo-Ukwu Divisional Police Headquarters recovered a white Peugeot J5 Boxer bus with registration number AKL 896 XB, along with a roller and other equipment.
Ikenga explained that the items were recovered after hoodlums vandalizing a Lister model generator at an MTN mast opposite Saint Martin’s Catholic Church in Umudege abandoned the scene upon spotting the approaching police team.
Efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects, with the police urging residents to provide any information that could assist in their capture.
