The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has successfully intercepted a major shipment of cocaine hidden in food items such as granulated pepper, melon seeds, and yam flour.
The contraband, valued at millions of naira, was en route to the United Kingdom before being uncovered by the vigilant officers.
The NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, revealed this in a statement shared via his X account on Sunday.
Accompanied by a video of the confiscated items, Babafemi highlighted the extent to which traffickers go to disguise illicit drugs.
“The unimaginable places NDLEA officers discover illicit drugs these days will leave you cringing and more cautious in your dealings with people.
“This video shows cocaine worth millions concealed in granulated pepper, melon seeds, yam flour, and other items, all destined for the UK,” Babafemi stated.
