The Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye has passed away.
He died on Monday, November 4, 2024, at a tertiary health institution in the state following a brief illness.
According to the Nation, while official details surrounding his death have yet to be disclosed, sources confirmed that he had been hospitalized for a short time before his passing.
Justice Adeyeye was appointed Chief Judge on October 11, 2021, by then-Governor Kayode Fayemi. Born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi, located in Ekiti East Local Government Area, he embarked on his legal career after being called to the bar in 1986.
He began as a State Counsel with the old Ondo State Civil Service and later joined the Ekiti State Judiciary Service Commission following the creation of the state in 1996.
Justice Adeyeye was appointed as a judge of the Ekiti State High Court in 2002 and served in various capacities, including on election petition tribunals.
