In a tragic incident in Ibadan, Oyo State, a middle-aged man identified only as Ahmed is alleged to have killed his grandfather and uncle.
The gruesome event took place in Apete, a suburb of Ibadan within the Ido local government area, around 6 pm on Sunday.
The Oyo State Police Command was alerted promptly, with officers from the Apete Divisional Police Headquarters responding to the scene shortly after the incident.
Reports revealed that both victims lived in the same residence as the suspect.
The spokesperson for the state Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident in a brief statement on Monday morning.
He said, “The command has indeed received the complaint of a male suspect who allegedly killed his grandfather and his uncle.”
Osifeso further noted, “Investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances behind the incident. Updates concerning the case would be provided accordingly, please.”
The police are actively investigating the case to determine the motives and circumstances surrounding the double homicide.
