Nasarawa high court judge Makama dies two months after appointment

A newly appointed judge of the Nasarawa State High Court, Justice Tanze Benjamin Makama, is dead.

Makama reportedly died after a brief illness on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

The Nigerian Bar Association, Nasarawa State branch, has expressed shock over his death while expressing its condolences.

In a statement issued by its Chairman, Nuhu J. Egya, the NBA described Justice Makama’s demise as an irreparable loss.

The association sent its condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for the fortitude to bear the loss.

They also expressed sympathy to the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State, Justice Aisha Bashir-Aliyu, and the entire judiciary, describing Justice Makama’s death as untimely.

Justice Makama was appointed as a judge on December 29, 2023.
