Three notorious cultists belonging to the Eiye Confraternity have been reportedly arrested by the operatives of the Ogun State Police Command in the Joju area of Sango Ota, in the state.
This was made known in a statement by the Command Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola.
The suspects were identified as Dakwo Michael Jackson, Joel Obieva, and Oluwaseun Bamideke.
Odutola explained that the police officers, led by the Divisional Police Officer of Sango Ota, Saleh Dahiru, raided a school in the Joju area of Sango Ota, where the suspects were found planning their illegal activities.
On interrogation, the suspects confessed that they were part of a larger gang of five members, with their leader still at large, according to Omolola.
The trio noted that they had planned to meet at the school before carrying out their planned operation.
The PPRO, however, said that due to the swift action of the operatives of the Sango Police Division, they were apprehended before they could execute “their nefarious plans”.
Odutola added that the police are currently making efforts to track down to the the remaining suspects who managed to escape arrest, noting that the three suspects in custody will be charged to court once the investigation is completed.
“Once the investigation conducted by the State Criminal Investigation Department is completed, the suspects in custody will be charged and brought before the court to face justice,” she added.
