Nigerians have taken to social media to react to a prayer led by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Saturday.
The cleric left his congregation shocked with a death prayer against himself.
Adeboye addressed accusations that he interacts with evil force in order to accomplish miracles during the 71st annual conference of the church, which is now taking place at the Redemption Camp.
He led the prayer and instructed his followers to ask God to have him killed before dawn if he has any connection to the devil.
The prayer has continued to generate various reactions from Nigerians, majority of whom expressed their surprise over the manner of prayer led by the cleric.
A tweep identified as @ChrisbenIsichei, tweeted, “Why can’t Pastor Adeboye tell his minions“to pray he dies if he supported these evil politicians?
“And if he didn’t then people praying for his downfall should fall”?If he sure for una Daddy GO make he stand for altar declare this kind prayer I won check something.
Another tweep identified as @RansomeAdewale, tweeted,”If a figure like Pastor Adeboye could raise such a rare and dangerous prayer point, the pressure has become unbearable!
“The enemies of the church are often within the fold not outside. It takes a high level of consecration to maintain that kind of integrity! Pray for your Pastor!”.
Also @HisRoyalHighness, tweeted,”Pastor Adeboye raised a prayer point and over 5 million people prayed that prayer point.
“If after all this, you still get mind raise false accusations, You go explain tire.”
While @Nigerianboss tweeted,” Now I don’t want to sound judgemental but pastor adeboye trending because of what he said is really funny to me ,all he was doing was based on the confidence that the prayer won’t work.”
