The operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a man identified as Jamiu Ademefun, for alleged illegal possession of firearms.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known on his Twitter handle on Thursday, explaining that the suspect was nabbed on Wednesday in Agege area of Lagos,
He said the three suspects alighted from a tricycle when they sighted the police and fled while the police chased them and apprehended 27-year-old Ademefun.
“The three occupants of a tricycle, upon sighting police officers from Abattoir Division, jumped out and took to their heels, the police gave them hot chase and arrested the suspect,” he said.
While listing the items recovered, the spokesman said a locally made pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from him.
