The new Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has stated that all outstanding salaries and allowances of serving and retired Police personnel would be paid by the end of June 2023.
According to Tribune, he stated this in his address during handover ceremony between him and the immediate past IGP, Usman Baba Alkali.
He also promised that citizens’ lives and property will be protected effectively under his administration’s watch. However, he stressed the importance of public assistance in carrying out his duties as Inspector General of Police.
Meanwhile, retiring IGP Usman Alkali Baba has asked for forgiveness from anyone he may have wronged in the course of his duties.
