The Sagamu Unit Command of Federal Road Safety Corps in Ogun State, on Wednesday stated that it would create a mobile court to try erring drivers during the festive period.
According to The News Agency of Nigeria, this was stated by the Unit Commander of FRSC, Sagamu, Taofiq Iyanda, in an interview with journalists.
He stated that doing this would prevent drivers who intended to break traffic laws over the holiday season.
He also said that every driver stopped for a route violation, driving against the flow of traffic, or any traffic infraction will have their cars detained and face the appropriate charges in the mobile court.
“We are appealing to motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations to stem mishaps on the highway, especially during this coming festive season.
“In addition, they should cooperate with FRSC personnel and other sister agencies, to ensure sanity on the highways and to get to their various destinations safely,” he said.
In order to avoid needless automobile failures on the roadways, the unit commander stressed that drivers should make sure their vehicles were properly serviced, especially before long travels.
