The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Kwara State Command has apprehended three individuals, including an 81-year-old man, Adeleke Oke, for their alleged involvement in the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in Offa, Kwara State.

According to a statement released on Thursday by NSCDC Public Relations Officer Ayoola Michael, the suspects were detained on Sunday following a complaint lodged by the victim’s father.
The case has been referred to the Gender Unit of the command for further investigation.
The statement detailed that preliminary findings indicated that the suspects had engaged in sexual acts with the minor on multiple occasions and had threatened her to keep the incidents secret.
A subsequent medical examination confirmed that the victim’s hymen was ruptured, indicating repeated sexual penetration.
The suspects have reportedly admitted to the charges and are expected to face legal proceedings.
NSCDC State Commandant, Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, strongly condemned the incident and called on the community to support efforts in combating.
