The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced the promotion of 1,731 staff members following their outstanding performance in the 2024 promotion examinations.
This development was revealed in a bulletin issued on Tuesday by Adenike Tadese, INEC’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity.
Among the promoted staff, 59 deputy directors were elevated to the rank of director, while 168 assistant directors moved up to become deputy directors. Additionally, 167 chiefs were advanced to assistant director positions.
A further 1,337 officers across different grades were also recognized for their exceptional performance and promoted.
INEC emphasized that the promotions align with its commitment to fostering a motivated and productive workforce within a professional setting.
The statement said, “The Independent National Electoral Commission has approved the promotion of 1,731 members of staff who excelled in the 2024 promotion examinations.
“This achievement marks another milestone that underscores the commission’s unwavering commitment to enhancing staff welfare and supporting career progression.
“A detailed breakdown of the promotions reveals that: 59 Deputy Directors (Grade Level 16) have been elevated to the rank of Director (Grade Level 17); 168 Assistant Directors (Grade Level 15) were promoted to the rank of Deputy Director (Grade Level 16); 167 Chiefs (Grade Level 14) advanced to the position of Assistant Director (Grade Level 15); and 1,337 officers between Grade Levels 7 and 13 were found deserving and promoted accordingly.”
