Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman’s late goal secured a 2-1 victory for Atalanta over AC Milan on Friday night.
Charles De Ketelaere gave Atalanta an early advantage, breaking the deadlock in the 12th minute.
However, Milan responded swiftly as Alvaro Morata leveled the score in the 22nd minute.
The game seemed destined for a draw until Lookman found the back of the net with just three minutes left in regulation time, sealing the crucial win for Atalanta.
Shortly after scoring the decisive goal, Lookman made way in the 90th minute.
Meanwhile, Lookman’s compatriot and Super Eagles teammate, Samuel Chukwueze, entered the fray for Milan as the clock ticked into the final minute of regular time.
The result catapulted Atalanta to the top of the Serie A standings with 34 points, two ahead of Napoli.
However, Napoli could reclaim the summit with a win in their weekend fixture.
Lookman’s impressive form continues, with the Nigerian forward now boasting eight goals in 12 league matches this season.
